Quote for Minerva Park Residents

"What we need as a country, is to make sure as many people as possible are involved in politics. It's a lot harder for other folks to decide our future if we are constantly paying attention."--Maria Teresa Kumar @MariaTeresa1

This very issue is the root of what plagues Minerva Park. I think we can all agree that the apathy is going to tear us apart one way or another. If we don't all agree, I'm sure we will be seeing evidence of that in the comments.

  1. The problem the Village faces is the same problem our country faces today. The apathy has gotten so bad that we are forced to chose from the people who are WILLING to run for public office and those people may not be working towards what's best for the community.

Unfortunately in politics today the the idea that you are either with me or against me and if you are against me you are the enemy is the norm. It's no different in Minerva Park politics.

I believe that everyone has good things and bad things to bring to the table. What is good or bad depends and your priorities, and not everyone is going to agree as to what is a priority Things start to fall apart when you stop working towards a compromise. That's where we are today.

Some people have made me out to be public enemy #1. Like everyone else I have my good points and bad points. I understand that my priorities may not be the same as yours. But until people start letting it be known what your priorities are we are never going to be able to reach a compromise.

Here is a little food for thought

One of the seven deadly sins is sloth, probably the least understood of all the deadly sins. Another word for sloth is apathy, the thing that seems to me to be the biggest problem in our world today. People just don't want to get involved and then they wonder way things are a mess.

The following statement is one of the most important concepts in my life and is what drives me to do what I do and I wish everybody felt the same way.
EVIL EXISTS WHEN GOOD MEN FAIL TO ACT

To me this is why the world is in the mess it is. Too much apathy!
