Elections quickly approaching

The elections are quickly approaching, and I have both excitement and dread.  After Tuesday, Minerva Park's destiny will be decided for another four years.  Will we continue to be lead by our current mayor, who has questionable motives and ethics?  Will we have a new leader in our village, and will he have the influence to make the changes so many residents are seeking?  Will the newly elected council members have the backbone to make their own informed decisions, and not just follow the crowd?  Throughout this drama-filled campaign, residents have chosen sides, made their opinions known, and have become a little more involved and educated in the government as it now stands.  I am hoping that this election has record number of Minerva Park resident voters, and that even after the election, the momentum continues.  Residents need to continue to question, seek facts and push for equality in our village.  So, tell your neighbors, friends and family members to get out and vote- November 8th!     L.A.

  1. I ask that all voters PLEASE stop the madness with the currant mayor and vote her out. How much questionable issues can we put up with. I will make a pledge! Vote her out and at the next lake clean up I will bring 10 New faces. Its time for a change. Lots of people will not donate there time because of her and some of the council that think they run the village.
Please vote her out and this will stop the lies and the dishonesty and i am sure it would stop the ongoing law suites.
10 new faces can you top that!

  2. So do I understand this correctly; if the current mayor is re-elected, all the complainers and disgruntled residents will move out of the Village and put an end to their rants and constant harassment of the Mayor, Police Chief, and Council?

  3. Read into it the way you want! Said nothing about the police Chief! But if your ok with the lies and dishonesty and the law suits maybe it would be better to find a better class of neighbors. Not sure that i want my kids growing up like that!
Sounds like you have not done your Home Work! Have you talked to the FOP to see what they think!
Have you about the law suites. NOT the one with the police chief! Sounds like she might have made a few mistakes in her past. So has every one i belive in a second chance. The Mayor has had to many.Signing contracts with people who dont have the paperwork and it does not seem to bother her.

  4. In your past comments the Mayor, Council, and the Police Chief are all the same! You hate everyone equally. That is why the Police Chief was included. Do you disagree?

  6. Now that you mention it, I have heard from several about it being such a hostile working enviroment. Also has been brought to my attention that there will be several law suits in the near future regarding this issue. Wake up people you need to clean house on election day for the best interest of the residents and staff.

  8. Start asking questions. Of course can,t be sure if you will get any answers,no you'll get an answer but how much of it will be the truth.

  9. I think anyone who is hearing things about it being a 'hostile work environment' should do a public records request on the personnel files for those certain persons who are making such claims. You would probably find that those certain persons did some things that they shouldn't have done and are now sore losers about it. The FOP is not an objective source for how things are in the police department, either!

  12. Time will tell what is right or wrong. There is a difference between right and wrong. No its doesn't really sound immature, maybe a smart ass who thinks they know it all, What does the FOP have to do with anything. Maybe you aren't even on the right page. Pay attention. Well you have another 4 years maybe between then and now the village can get their questions answered and the village back to the way it use to be.
