According to The Villager that I received in today's mail, the meeting will be held April 28th at Hawthorne Elementary's Gymnasium (the cafeteria in my mind as a former student, but maybe they do mean the gym...?)
The meeting is scheduled from 4 pm to 6 pm.
Thanks for advertising your blog. I don't always agree with you, but every government - no matter how small - needs a source of agitation to keep it honest.
ReplyDeleteIt does not seem that Jessica posts information on this blog as a source of agitation. It seems the intent is more to inform those of actions they might not be aware of, provide her opinion when applicable, and an opportunity for people to voice their opinion regarding a topic.
ReplyDeleteAnd she seems to believe that an informed vocal populace the last thing the government of Minerva Park wants, yes? Agitation isn't a bad thing in all cases. As I said, it keeps government honest.
DeleteBut keeping government honest is not necessarily going to be accomplished by having verbal tirades from a select few members of the village at almost all public meetings. Look at how the golf course meeting ended all because one person decided to become belligerent. I felt uncomfortable sitting there and I'm certain many other members of the village are reluctant to come to many public meetings because of outbursts like these. I agree that dissent is reasonable but being abusive and intolerant of others is not the solution. All it is really going to do is cause the rest of us to avoid community involvement.
