As a resident of Minerva Park and the United States of America I am enraged by the activities of Minerva Park council.
My understanding is that starting April , 2013 residents will be required to pay local waste services for trash collection. The Village of Minerva Park has a contract with local waste that goes through October 2013. Personal conversation with local waste services indicates that if residents do not pay the amount invoiced, starting in April, they will be sent to collections.
Minerva Park council voted this into action, and hasn't notified any residents other than those who are closely watching.
Also, the percentage of income taxes going to the village coming out of your paycheck just doubled from the 0.5% it was to 1.0%. Did you know about that? Probably not, unless you were part of the few who have been actively watching.
There is a "community meeting" to be held at Hawthorne Elementary School April 7 regarding the Village -that means YOUR money- buying the golf course.
I'm angry. I'm back, because someone has to do something to save this community. I'll just try not to lose my sanity.

Just as a FYI, the April 7 date for the public meeting has been moved tentatively to April 28 in order to give Fisher Homes and the Village Administration a little more time to get prepare.
